Childcare Covid-19 Update
Updated: Jan 27
As you are aware our Child Care service has been closed since late March. North Lanarkshire Council are currently providing childcare hubs for key workers and the guidelines from the Scottish government are clear that all other childcare services should remain closed. There was an update on this last week which provided new guidelines for child minding services and fully outdoor nurseries, neither of which apply to the childcare facilities provided at the YMCA.
Moving forward we will continue to take guidance from the Scottish Government in line with their route map out of this crisis, therefore it is unlikely that we will open our service before the new school term starts in August. We are currently working on an action plan to allow us to be ready to open our service safely when we are permitted to do so. Part of our plan will be to canvas your opinions and feelings on the phasing in of services amidst this pandemic.
In the meantime if you would like to register your child for after school care for the new school term in August please email your contact details to email@example.com. If you are currently still paying for services via SO or DD your options are as follows –
Cancel your SO or DD and apply for a refund to firstname.lastname@example.org
Cancel your SO or DD and we will apply any payments received to the new school term
If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com or contact the CEO direct at
Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to get our services back up and running but the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and service users are extremely important to us and we need to make sure that any resumption of services is done safely and in line with government guidelines.
