Childcare Manager
Full Time (35 hours)
Location: Orbiston, Bellshill
Salary: Band 4 - £21,770 - £25,265
Closing Date: 9th October 2020

Bellshill and Mossend YMCA are looking to recruit a dynamic and engaging Childcare Manager with excellent communication, management, leadership, and coaching skills and will have a commitment to delivering a high-quality service in line with our mission and values. You will have a passion for working with children and play a central role in the development of our childcare service. In addition, you will have overall responsibility for providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment that promotes social and personal development for children through the understanding of play and the delivery of high quality indoor and outdoor play experiences within a regulated service.
Our organisation was founded in 1907, Based in Bellshill it delivers a range of high-quality services for young people in its area of operation and is recognised as an exemplar youth organisation.

 

Our award-winning Childcare service has been an integral part of our community for over 20 years. Graded by Care Inspectorate Scotland as a Centre of Excellence for Inclusive Childcare and Outdoor Play, our services provide personal and social development through quality indoor and outdoor play/learning experiences. All provision is underpinned by the firm belief that play is considered a significant factor in every aspect of human development and therefore a crucial component in the psychological development and well-being of all children.


Registered with Care Inspectorate Scotland in the Day-care of Children our service can accommodate up to 60 children aged between 0-12yrs (dependent on service). Admissions for all services below range from children attending all the local primary schools, Social Work or Health and Education. The overall objective of the organisation is to become fully embedded in the community by seeking representation and playing an active role in community planning and community life – developing as a Community Anchor.

Project Operations Manager
Full Time (35 hours)
Location: Main Street, Bellshill
Salary: Band 6 - £28,041 - £32,061
Closing Date: 9th October 2020

Bellshill and Mossend YMCA are looking to recruit a dynamic and engaging Project Operations Manager with excellent communication, management, leadership, and coaching skills and will have a commitment to delivering a high-quality service in line with our mission and values.  You will play a central role in the development of our projects, working closely with the Bellshill and Mossend community and bordering communities as well as wider networks and key partners to ensure they influence and shape our ongoing strategic development.  As well as this you will be responsible for a current team of 3 Project Co-ordinators and their direct reports and have the capacity to grow this team as projects are developed.

Our organisation was founded in 1907, Based in Bellshill it delivers a range of high-quality services for young people in its area of operation and is recognised as an exemplar youth organisation.  

Our current projects include – 

Pathways to Confidence – In partnership with COVEY Befriending and funded by the Big lottery and William Grant, this project focuses on ensuring positive long-term outcomes for young people aged between 8-14

EEI/Plus One/Befriending – Funded by North Lanarkshire Council, this project works with young people aged 8-16 in North Lanarkshire who are experiencing social isolation, anti-social behaviour, and poor engagement at school.  The Plus One and EEI aspect of the project seeks to divert children and young people away from offending

Sharing Our Success (SOS)/Y-Family Works – Funded by Robertson’s Trust this project was set up to support young people aged 8-15 and their families affected by substance misuse.

The overall objective of the organisation is to become fully embedded in the community by seeking representation and playing an active role in community planning and community life – developing as a Community Anchor.
